We need your help in 2024!

It is that time of year again!  The educational mission team that I started almost eleven years ago plans to return to Honduras again in 2024 to teach skills which will enable each student we serve to truly impact the lives of their families and neighbors.

And WOW!  Look at that price above.  This is our lowest tuition ever.  I don't want to fool you, though.  This is the membership fee based on a minimum of ten members.

It is also based on the hope that we can find donors to cover the costs of the team activities below:

  • $30/person water filter contribution
  • $45/person round trip ferry tickets
  • $50/person ground transportation
  • $75/person AHMEN membership fees
  • $100/person TEDx La Ceiba Youth Empowerment Conference
Prayer Warriors, Fundraisers, and Donors, we kindly ask for your help in covering the costs above so our team members may travel and serve the people of Honduras at the lowest cost to them.  With ten members on the team, we need to raise $3,000 to ensure our members only have to pay $900 to join the us in June.

To donate, simply send me an email explaining the amount of your donation and which team need you seek to fulfill.  Then, make out your check to AHMEN with "Rio Team" on the "For" line.  Mail to AHMEN/Andrea Nuss 287 Tommy Robinson Rd. Jasper, AL 35504.

So what will we be doing, you ask, with your contribution??

June 1: We arrive in Roatan, Honduras and travel to Villa Helens in Sambo Creek.
June 2: Make final preparations and practice our teaching assignments.  Lessons start in the evening followed by a cultural celebration!
June 3-4:  Our team will be working with local teachers at the high school in Jutiapa, the Youth Network in Cantor, and a national science fair in La Ceiba teaching the dynamic topics listed in the flyer above.
June 5: Attend and host TEDx La Ceiba - a first-time attempt to gather altruistic visionaries dedicated to shaping a just Honduran future to share their thoughts with the world.
June 6: Debrief, closing ceremonies, and goodbyes before returning by ferry to Roatan
June 7: Unstructured R&R
June 8: Return home

This year's Rio team is jam-packed and reminiscent of a Tom Camp Tour de Corse.  With your help, we can make it all happen. For it is together, that we are the difference.
